Matilda Radge
Introduction
Matilda Radge is a professional musician who has been producing music from the year 1997 to 2021. She is the owner and director of Abraham Records Recording and Production Studio business from the year 2006. She is a multi lingual record producer, composer and lyricist. Matilda is specialized in vocal production, professional Pop vocal coaching (English, Malay & Indian languages), a vocal mentor, and a Voice-Over artiste. Matilda is the only professional female record producer and songwriter from the Malaysian Indian music industry who has made no 1 hits in both Indian and the Malay radios including on the East Malaysian radio station, and also having had her composition played in an Indonesian radio station.

Personal Background
This 41+ years old Malaysian Indian lady who is born to parents, Dr. V. Thevarajulu (PJM) a retired preacher who is an established Tamil author / writer / poet, and Mrs. N. Thevarajulu a graduate, a businesswoman and a philanthropist. Matilda is formally educated in Psychology (Bsc.), Human Resources Management (Adv Dip) and is professionally trained in Pop Vocals.
Matilda started singing since she was a child. She started her musical journey in her teens by getting trained in Pop Vocals. She sought after the best vocal coach in Penang, Mr. Mark Andrew Lim. Her coach had been trained in the United Kingdom. She took musical influences from great artistes like Whitney Houston, Tina Arena, etc.. She also served as the gospel worship leader and the head of the music department in her church.
Music Career
At the age of 18, She started her professional career in music by recording for Dell’s corporate theme song in Fame Productions, Penang. Soon, she was getting frequent invitations from the studio to lend her voice in various recordings. Though she was still a college student, she started writing and recording songs in various languages like Malay, English and Tamil. She involved in many projects like singing back ups for albums, radio jingles/ads, local tele-movies and government projects. For most of the projects, she served as a ghost writer in the studio. She composed and wrote local Tamil gospel songs, Iruthi Poraattam & Karthar Yesu for special events as well.
In 2005 at the age of 25, she got married to Boy Radge (P.P.T), an award winning music director and moved to Kuala Lumpur and opened a recording studio business. She simultaneously runs her studio and continues her creative works till date.
In earlier parts of her career in KL, besides being a trained vocalist, She lent her voice to radio ads, TV program montages, online web education programs, elevator systems and etc. Other areas would be corporate building elevators such as Tenaga National Berhad, MS Elevators and mobile phone ringtone services like Planet Mobile which she was a part of in Penang itself. She also rendered skillful and unique voices in cartoons such as, Mac & Ted, Colourful voices, Little Red Riding Hood, and Bruce The Blue Bear. Her proficiency in speaking different languages indeed became an advantage to her career. Currently, a new cartoon movie, The Power Of Garuda which Matilda has sang for is awaiting for release.
Being the owner of Abraham Records recording studio, she produces and involves in hand picked projects. Any music project she involves in, gets a midas touch. Puriyathe, a song that she featured in for the album Ethirpaarkiren received a long and active radio airplay. The song that she duetted with Dhilip Varman, Yetho Oru Parvai for Ivanthaanda Hero movie was widely spoken about by so many of her fans.Besides writing songs in English, Tamil and Malay, she has written malay songs for tele-movies. One example would be the Malay telemovie, Dekat Padamu. She wrote songs and sang for Malay movie, Bisikan Remaja. She also translate corporate video scripts for companies like, Renesas Semiconductor,Cargo Cats, Skoolive Productions, Langkawi Ferry Services and Silver Resort Sdn. Bhd.
In 2009, Thr Raaga specially assigned Matilda and Boy Radge to produce their theme song for Raaga Awards. Matilda worked with all the deejays, vocally coached them in singing and recorded them for the song. The song was performed in the mega event and was telecasted. The song production received rave reviews from radio listeners. Besides producing the song, she also did the voice-overs for the event.
In 2010, she and Boy Radge won a VIMA award under the Best Genre Bender category for producing a youthful Tamil single, Jokkaneh Figureh together with artistes D&P. The song won despite being nominated together with English and Malay songs. The song was also judged by a non-Indian jury team. Besides being the producer, she featured herself in the song as a guest artiste and showed her powerful vocals in hitting coloratura soprano whistle notes using Arabic scales and vocal styling. The song received tremendous airplay on the radio as well. She also became one of the judges for Astro Vanavil Superstar in the year 2010.
In October 2010, she released an English gospel album,
Be Thou My Vision. She took one year to complete it. The album was received very well. Francissca Peter and Patrick Leong were featured as Matilda's guest artistes. Her album was purchased and appreciated by many non Christians and was appreciated by listeners from the USA. Her wedding song composition is sung in church weddings in countries like the USA.
In August 2011, she contributed her voice in Digi Oli Peruvom charity song Video dedicated to Tamil schools. Besides that she was busy promoting her gospel album. Also, she vocal produced a number one Tamil hit song on THR Raaga, Sollamal Pogumbothey for new artiste Arivananthan.
In the year 2012, She executive produced the hit single, Indru Vaazhnthidalaam (Let Love Take Over) for a new teenage female artiste Hashmitha Selvam. The debut song became a number one top hit on THR Raaga for an accumulation of four weeks. Hashmitha also won the Malaysian Indian Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) award in 2014 for best female vocals category. This composition became monumental in Hashmitha's career.
Matilda later on composed and produced the young Kashika's Tamil debut single, Friendship Paatu that became a very huge hit among the Malays where Astro Ceria requested Matilda to write and produce the Malay version of the song, You and I. It became a huge hit as well where every Malay child knew and sang the song. It also became Astro Ceria's sitcom Tiga Campur Dua's main song.
Other huge hits that Matilda has composed and produced is for Malay artiste Reena Nicky. Reena's debut Tamil-Malay song Ewah! became a no 1 hit for many weeks on the Malay radios and even became no 1 in a Sabah radio station. This song was written about in the Malay newspapers and the URTV magazine and Matilda was invited by the online Utusan program to give an interview. Reena's next song Istimewa (Malay) which Matilda also composed and wrote, became a number 1 hit for a number of weeks in the Malay radios and was also played in an Indonesian radio.Also, a main point to be noted is Matilda's singing and Boy Radge's music is used by the Malaysian Education ministry as part of their syllabus for Pendidikan Muzik in our Malaysian national schools. Matilda has sung in Malay, English, Korean, Japanese and Tagalog for our government music education.
Besides these projects, She has co-composed with music director Boy Radge and vocal produced a grand multi-lingual thematic song for Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA) for Campaign Jom Botak. She vocal produced artistes like Atilia, Farhan, Iqwal, Datin Manimala and MK.
Over the years, she has been invited by Tamil and English radios like Traxx.fm, Minnal.fm, Raaga and Hitz fm on countless times. Matilda has also released an English single before, Love In The Sky which was played on Hitz.fm and Traxx.fm. Though she is a producer and a songwriter, she is described to have the voice of an angel by fans and once in a while, she features for artistes. One of it is the song Kathal Mazhai with RJ and artiste Aanantha. She also records jingles such such as for Sunquik, College theme song and consumer products like Gardenia and Sailajah. She does voice overs in English and Malay for product advertisements like Life Buoy. She also lends her voice-over for apps.
Matilda's main business is her production and recording studio. She deals with Malay and English projects and her husband music director Boy Radge handles Indian clientele. Therefore she gets to be laid back and hand pick her projects. She also conducts English Pop vocal training for students at Abraham Records. She also judges, mentors and trains singing competition finalists like the Ai Minnal TV singing competition.Matilda Radge is known for her skillful compositions and production music works with international standards. This claim is evident in her works. She has been writing professionally, producing for artistes in multi languages and music genres since 1997. She is respected as a legit composer in the Malay music industry.
Matilda's other passions are Human Psychology and traveling. She has traveled to countries like the USA, Japan, Korea, India, etc. She has a Facebook page titled Vocal Health By Matilda Radge. Matilda is also a Bible teacher and preaches in churches upon invitation. She gives counseling to young people on marriage and relationships.
